Nestled in the surrounding birch trees, this private residence was designed to make the most out of weekend getaways at the lake. The 360 SF retreat features a wood burning sauna at its center. The house sleeps six with two queen beds in the loft and a Murphy bed in the main space.
The design is oyster like with a yakisugi exterior (traditional burnt cypress) and an interior of smooth birch veneer. The floors are cork and the sauna is northern pine, with accent materials including concrete countertops, cotton rope and steel railings. The house is equipped with a kitchenette, closed-loop plumbing and composting toilet.
The Sauna House keeps the lake sauna culture alive year-round. Expansive 11’ tall windows and a double sliding, glass door frame bring the outside in, making the most of the surrounding views. The site includes adjoining fire pit, dining deck and detachable dock.
