Located at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, this facility includes a large aircraft maintenance bay with associated training and support areas. The centerpiece of the project is the hangar designed to service Boeing 737/737 Max and other wide body aircraft. Support spaces array around the hangar perimeter, providing shop, storage, and personnel space for efficient and safe maintenance operations. This facility also serves as the regional headquarters for Alaska Airlines personnel.
Surrounded by the tall walls of the central hangar bay, the lower canopies taper to a gentle, curved edge, evoking the lines of aircraft winglets. The entry lobby features an open stair. The interior space was designed to reflect imagery inspired by performance goals and adjacent walls are a setting to tell the compelling story of the history and future of Alaska Airlines.
