Meet Jason Zullo, our dedicated Sustainability Director, whose daily mission is to steer MCG Explore Design’s sustainability efforts across all fronts. From overseeing company-wide initiatives and programmatic work to guiding individual project certifications, Jason’s holistic approach ensures that sustainability isn’t just a concept but a tangible reality in all our projects.
Jason’s journey into sustainability began with a revelatory encounter with a green builder during his college years, which profoundly shaped his career path. Driven by a passion to make a difference, Jason thrives on the opportunity to enhance the quality of life through thoughtful, Environmentally Conscious Design. Whether it’s optimizing natural daylight in buildings or managing energy demands, his work consistently aims to benefit occupants, owners, and the broader community.
Outside the office, Jason embodies the spirit of adventure and creativity. An avid explorer and photographer, he combines his love for travel with his artistic pursuits, capturing the essence of his journeys. His quirky habit of skateboarding through airports for the past 25 years showcases his efficiency and light-hearted approach to life.
Among the diverse projects at MCG, Jason is particularly proud of his involvement in the Seward Cruise Ship Terminal for Royal Caribbean. This project resonates with his values of integrating sustainable practices in large-scale infrastructures. Beyond his project work, Jason is committed to continuous learning, often engaging in conferences, continuing education, and staying abreast of industry innovations.
For Jason, “Explore Design” encapsulates the essence of pushing design boundaries to achieve profoundly positive and joyous impacts. His commitment extends beyond professional realms into community service, where he has led local chapters of the USGBC and ILFI, passionately advocating for green building practices.
